@psychonautie Veganism is an animal liberation movement, aiming to end animal exploitation and freeing sentient beings from enslavement in the most cruel industries in the world
For the victims, it does not matter who is more moral than who. All they want is to stop suffering and to live
@FamiliarZen@areikm So if someone murdered you in a chicken cone without your consent, you would consider that humane?
Definition of "humane": marked by compassion, sympathy, or consideration
Murder is the opposite of humane by definition
@christasyd Also, most of these are heavily supplemented in animal agriculture. So even if you would take them as supplement as a vegan, that would still be bad for those supplement industries
Your conspiracy makes zero sense
@christasyd Literally none of those are essential. They are forms of iron, vit. A, omega3, vit. D, zinc & choline, which are all found in plants
If you were in your victim's position, you'd expect your oppressor to get those nutrients via plants or supplements, instead of enslaving you, no?
@christasyd Please tell me another essential nutrient that can only be found in animal products
I don't think science has discovered it yet, but I am interested in your discovery
@yaobindingcord That's not an argument against veganism. Your choice is between exploiting animals or not. Not between exploiting animals or humans
You don't have to think an animal is worth as much as a human to just leave them alone and not enslave/murder them
@thebeegestyosho They're obviously talking about animal agriculture and not food in general. Both animal agriculture and AI are entirely unnecessary
And yes, enslaving, torturing and murdering trillions of sentient beings per year and massive environmental destruction is clearly worse than AI.
@SleepySitrus@lurkinglilacs@ashdiariees You cannot ethically murder an animal who wants to live + Even on small farms, animals are separated from their family, extremely selectively bred (leading to many health issues) and artificially inseminated (raped)
@Fenrir1490217@humanmymelody "It is the position of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that, in adults, appropriately planned vegetarian and vegan dietary patterns can be nutritionally adequate and can offer long-term health benefits such as improving several health outcomes associated with ..."
@Fenrir1490217@humanmymelody Wrong. The scientific consensus is literally that a healthy plant-based diet covers all necessary nutrients

If you disagree with the science, please name a single nutrient that can only be obtained from animal-based products
@HereForBeerNuts@humanmymelody They are obligate carnivores and do not understand the concept of morality. Humans have the possibility to make more ethical decisions
Hope that answers the question
