@wristglitter@Okkuronix_Dmsn Not always, but frequently are one and the same. Repeatedly ignoring boundaries to try to force your friends to stalk someone on your behalf is abusive.
@horrorgjrl Holding someone with bpd accountable means you do not entertain their delusions. They were delusional thinking they could get their FP back via therapy or by making their friends make their fp come back. Eventually the delusion overwhelmed the entirety of the friendship.
@horrorgjrl For months asked them to genuinely get needed help, they only sought help to get the FP back & since it didn't work they refused help anymore, then they harassed their friends to bother their FP over& over saying that's the only help they'll accept... That's on them.
@horrorgjrl Being mentally ill does not mean other people are obligated to talk to you. Other people have their own problems to worry about without making you their number 1 problem. If you aren't genuinely seeking help, & hurting your friends then blaming them for being hurt, that's on you.
@horrorgjrl I've been on both sides. I've been abandoned "without explanation." I sought treatment as a result and realized, I always had an explanation, but didn't want to accept it. Bpd is often the "blame others for the consequences of your own actions"disease, sadly.
@horrorgjrl It wasn't without explanation. It was then saying over and over here is my boundary, I will not harass your FP for you. Over and over that boundary was trampled. There was months of explanation, it didn't do anything to help.
remember when google search was uncannily good and could find exactly what you were looking for even from a really vague prompt? i'm reminded of those times, as i have been looking for a particular meme for like 30 mins now and it hasn't even gotten close
@horrorgjrl@Okkuronix_Dmsn They did communicate, repeatedly over months, and the boundary the friends communicated of not harassing the FP on their behalf was not honored. There's only so much "if you don't make this person talk to me & take me back I'm gonna hurt myself" one can tolerate.
@RYO69420@puppygirluzi They did get therapy, but for the express purpose of getting back in touch with their FP, when that didn't happen they said therapy is useless. All their conversations with their friends group revolved around begging them to harass the FP for them.
@eli_yeen@hurricaneidiot@Finnjpeg_@n0pe_nop3_nope@IMPALASTlEL@LinkyMew They definitely had the right to cut the friendship however they saw fit, and the person with bpd should get professional help. I used to meet criteria for bpd long ago, and I'm glad my friends ghosted me bc I was an asshole who deserved it at that time, it made me get help.
@eli_yeen@hurricaneidiot@Finnjpeg_@n0pe_nop3_nope@IMPALASTlEL@LinkyMew It's not a relationship if all the communication is focused around trying to get people to put you in touch with someone who doesn't want to be harassed by you anymore, & instead of seeking help you blame them for fp falling out. That's not friendship. That's pure manipulation.
@eli_yeen@hurricaneidiot@Finnjpeg_@n0pe_nop3_nope@IMPALASTlEL@LinkyMew At a certain point, there's nothing left to say. You love them & want them to get help. They are obsessed with FP & think the only help they need is assistance in harassing the FP, & refuse real help. What else can you say except goodbye at that point??
@eli_yeen@hurricaneidiot@Finnjpeg_@n0pe_nop3_nope@IMPALASTlEL@LinkyMew They did talk, for months, and only ghosted after the person with bpd admitted they were only attending therapy to learn how to manipulate their FP back into their lives and had no interest in really healing. A bpd's fp has no obligation to suffer abuse so the bpd can regulate.
@boygirlyaoi I read the comments, the person w bpd was harassing the friend group to get in touch with their FP & refused to accept this was inappropriate. They attended therapy for the sole purpose of getting fp back and deemed it useless when realized therapy isn't meant for that.
@eli_yeen@hurricaneidiot@Finnjpeg_@n0pe_nop3_nope@IMPALASTlEL@LinkyMew For bpd, they literally do use their FP for emotional regulation, usually at the detriment of the FP who can't maintain the demands of the bpd. That's unhealthy obsession, not friendship at all. The FP has no obligation to allow themselves to be abused so the bpd can regulate
