And they love to argue this by saying "mental illness isn't an excuse" which is obviously true, you were never asked to excuse, the only thing asked from you was to have the decency of owing your friend communication & understanding, ESPECIALLY not when they're actively spiraling
jic yall need to hear it from another bpd person:
i cannot self regulate when im alone unless i hurt myself and even then it is not a guarantee i will calm down. i NEED other people to self regulate, no matter what i try. and ive been to therapy. and the hospital. it doesnt work
@cloudosaur i don't know why you keep repeating that like i didn't already agree. my point is, you can recognize a disorder makes someone act a certain way while still holding them accountable. it's not "they're a horrible person" but also not "they did nothing wrong"
@feraltribble except i never implied they were at faul, i said the opposite, but you're being dense on purpose, because you assumed i'm a bad person from the fact that i didn't treat a stranger like they're a monster
@feraltribble it was never communicated that their friends didn't wanna talk to them. what was communicated is that this person can't talk to their FP. and either way, i said it doesn't excuse their extreme reaction. i showed empathy for both sides
@feraltribble@cloudosaur every single one of my replies has been about communicating first, which is not what's happening in the original screenshots since that person is being ignored. so no, i don't think it's an issue
