@technospiderssb Interesting question, but as a programmer, I hate it. Any code that relies on lengths of time being consistent is going to start breaking in weird and unexpected ways
In the face of all the pessimism on my timeline in competitive smash, I want to offer (at least part) of my take on it. tl;dr: Return to ACTUAL grassroots. If any of this sounds like what your scene is already doing, good - lean into it
This guy is at the forefront of what it means to compete at a top level in multiple games at once. I hope he gets support to continue competing, because it feels like he's a big part of bridging the Smash and FGC communities together
Quick BoBC 7 anecdote
SF6 Finals overlapped with Riddles' Ult Top 64 block. He played a SF Top 6 set, then rushed over to the Ult stream to play. He sat down against Gluto, lost a very close Game 5 set (against the eventual CHAMPION btw), then rushed back to SF, where he got 3rd
I am so grateful for the opportunities that Liquid has given me throughout these years. Thank you for everything
With that said I am now a free agent! If any org is interested you can message me on my business email [email protected] or shoot a dm on twitter :)
@OldManJonix This happened in both Singles and Doubles BTW. Lemmon was seeded so that making 1 upset put him against Ouch!?
He actually did it in both brackets, and in both cases, he was only actually a few seeds below them, so they were barely even upsets
