🎓 Hosted by the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and co‑organised by ESA Education, this year’s symposium brought together over 500 participants from across the global space education community.

🌍 Over three inspiring days, #SSEA2026 featured parallel technical sessions, poster presentations, discussion panels, and a memorable gala dinner hosted by the State of Bavaria, creating countless opportunities for exchange, learning, and collaboration.

From engaging keynote speakers and vibrant discussions to meeting industry, student groups, and space agencies in the exhibition area (and enjoying the occasional pretzel 🥨), the energy and enthusiasm were evident throughout.

It was a space for meeting new people, exchanging ideas, and starting conversations that we hope will continue well beyond the event. ✨

👏 A huge congratulations and thank you to the organisers and all attendees for making this the biggest SSEA to date!

🚀 Day 1 of the 5th Symposium on Space Educational Activities (SSEA)

Hosted by the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and co‑organised by ESA Education, SSEA has kicked off as a three‑day international event bringing together 500+ participants from across the global space education community, with students at its heart 🌍🎓

Day 1 highlights included the opening session with contributions from DLR, the Head of the Space and Security Department at the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, ESA Education, and TUM, followed by sessions on space education strategies, hands‑on mission design, and student learning through platforms such as stratospheric balloons, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and robotics.

A key moment was the poster session, where participants had just two minutes to present their ideas, showcasing student‑driven innovation in action 💡
