Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee has put off commenting on their post on their publication of cow urine research. Why? How can a central institute that is run on public funds stop public from commenting on their post?

All through the night, I performed a post publication peer review of this IIT Roorke paper that claimed that it identified chemical components in cow urine that could highly efectively kill Chikungunya virus in lab conditions.

There are serious concerns in the paper that mandate post publication Editorial Review from the Journal and Publication Integrity Office, and need for validation of findings... that could mandate a retraction as per COPE Guidelines. A document with all concerns explained has been emailed to:

🔴Lack of direct evidence linking identified metabolites to antiviral effects, with concentrations in CUD unverified.

🔴Weak in silico and biochemical data, with docking scores and enzyme inhibition results unreliable.
🔴Structural inaccuracies in molecular docking, such as improbable hydrogen bonds.
🔴Statistical and analytical misrepresentations, including inappropriate synergy thresholds and wide variability without proper significance testing.
🔴Undeclared conflicts of interest, as funding sources and author affiliations favor traditional and cow-derived products.
🔴Numerous inconsistencies across figures and tables, including contradictory retention times and unlabelled peaks, undermining data credibility.

A journalist who is vehemently against Modi faced a unique problem.

His daughter faced a fake case under UAPA in Kerala.

She had never set foot in Kerala around the date of the registration of FIR.

She had later taken admission in a course in Kerala but the dates did not match.

This was under the Pinayari Government, which is seen as a government against BJP and Modi.

Yet.

So, the journalist friend had to go the Kerala to get the case withdrawn.

The States Public Prosecutor was called for a meeting with the CM.

In that meeting the PP agreed to withdraw the case.

But did not withdraw the case.

He demanded 5 Lakhs from the journalist to withdraw the case.

The friend went back to the intermediary who had arranged the meeting with the CM.

The friend was left with no option but to pay up, otherwise, his daughter would have been jailed. Eventually he paid 2 Lakhs cash for a case that did not even exist in the first place.

But UAPA is so draconian that the accused has to prove that he is not guilty, turning all logic on its head. Normally it is the state that has to prove the person guilty, but under UAPA, the reverse is true.

She had already completed the course and had got employment in another state with that state's government.

As she had been named in the FIR and under UAPA, her job was terminated.

Imagine, this was done in a state where BJP was not the ruling party.

The point I am trying to make is that if the government takes it upon itself, it can use its draconian powers to harass any citizen, across party lines and ideology.

In this instance, the case was filed by a Left Government against the daughter of a journalist who is working to expose the Modi government, thus making it impossible for him to blame the Modi government for the false case....

CBSE called for OSM tenders thrice. Zero bids the first time. No qualified bidder the second time. And finally, the technical bar was lowered until COEMPT could clear it.

Scanning resolution cut. Robotic scanner requirement dropped. CMMI certification lowered from Level 5 to Level 3. Penalties for errors in answer sheets removed.

TCS, India’s biggest IT services company, qualified in the third round too. TCS lost. COEMPT - a company with a spectacular track record of failure - won.

And what are CBSE students complaining about today? Badly scanned answer sheets. Missing pages. A broken evaluation portal.

Teachers had warned CBSE that the OSM system needed at least a year or two for further preparation before nationwide implementation, yet it was rushed through.

So I ask again - who wanted COEMPT to win? Who lowered the bar, step by step, until this company could clear it?

Pradhan ji and CBSE say “due process was followed.” That is not an answer, that is not accountability. The question is whether the contract was honestly awarded to the best company which could do the job correctly.

The futures of 18.5 lakh children were handed to a company that could only qualify after the rules were bent for it.

To the BJP Ministers attacking me for asking questions - I have, from day one, demanded an independent judicial probe. Expand it from CBSE to every contract awarded to COEMPT. Our youth deserve the truth.

And Modi ji, your silence on the CBSE debacle and inaction against the Education Minister tells the country what you actually care about - not the futures of lakhs of students, only the survival of your own government.
