Remembering Former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna, Gulzarilal Nanda on his birth anniversary.
A distinguished scholar, freedom fighter, and Gandhian, he joined the Non Cooperation Movement, endured repeated imprisonment for Satyagraha and went on to serve the nation with distinction as Union Minister and Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission.
Our humble homage to his life of integrity and public service.
A distinguished freedom fighter, educationist, social reformer, and a member of the Constituent Assembly, Hansa Mehta devoted her life to advancing womenтАЩs rights, gender equality, and social justice, guided by Gandhian ideals.
Her enduring contribution to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights helped affirm the principle that all human beings are born free and equal.
Our respectful tributes to the remarkable nation builder.
The devastating floods and landslides in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim have claimed precious lives and left thousands of families displaced and devastated.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones and stand in unwavering solidarity with every person affected by this tragedy across the Northeastern region.
All the tall promises by тАЬDouble EngineтАЭ NDA Governments to the people of Northeast to make their states тАЬflood freeтАЭ (See: BJPтАЩs Assam Vision Document, 2016) have disappeared in thin air, even as flood has become a regular annual feature with little preparedness and scarce long-term mitigation efforts.
The Modi Govt cannot afford to treat this as another routine disaster response. It must immediately utilise the PM CARES Fund to provide adequate compensation, comprehensive rehabilitation and sustained relief to every affected family.
While India is proud of our brave Armed Forces, NDRF & SDRF teams who are working tirelessly to rescue stranded people and support relief operations, the scale of this humanitarian crisis demands a far stronger response. The Government must urgently deploy additional personnel, resources and financial assistance to intensify rescue efforts, rebuild damaged infrastructure and ensure that no affected family is left behind.
The Congress party leaders and workers must assist and aid the victims in flood prone areas.
Every life saved carries the imprint of a doctorтАЩs compassion, skill, and unwavering sense of duty.
On National DoctorsтАЩ Day, we express our heartfelt gratitude to our doctors and the entire healthcare fraternity, including nurses, ANMs, ASHA and Anganwadi workers, and every frontline health professional whose selfless service keeps our nation healthy and resilient.
We also pay our respectful tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, an eminent physician, freedom fighter, educationist, and visionary statesman whose remarkable legacy continues to inspire generations.
I had the privilege of taking the oath of office as a Member of the Council of States, again. It is a matter of immense pride and responsibility to continue serving this august Upper House as the Leader of the Opposition.
I extend my sincere gratitude to the HonтАЩble Vice President of India and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, and to the HonтАЩble Deputy Chairman, Shri Harivansh, for their continued support.
I also express my heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of the Indian National Congress, especially CPP Chairperson, Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Shri @RahulGandhi, my fellow colleagues & MPs in the Congress Party, and to the countless party workers and supporters whose unwavering faith and encouragement have sustained me throughout my long journey in public life and Parliamentary service.
I am equally grateful to the Floor Leaders of all political parties, especially our colleagues in the INDIA bloc, and the wider Opposition, for their cooperation and camaraderie. I look forward to even stronger coordination during the forthcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament so that, together, we can make the government of the day more accountable.
We will continue to raise the burning concerns, aspirations and voices of the people with sincerity, conviction and determination. That remains our foremost responsibility, and I shall discharge it with the utmost commitment.

Our tributes to Former Prime Minister, P. V. Narasimha Rao, on his birth anniversary.
His governmentтАЩs path-breaking economic liberalisation accelerated growth, expanded opportunities for the middle class, and set the country on a trajectory of long-term development.
His tenure was also defined by significant strides in IndiaтАЩs nuclear programme and farsighted diplomatic initiatives, including the landmark тАШLook EastтАЩ policy.
His contribution to IndiaтАЩs progress and nation-building will always be remembered.
Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson, Smt. Sonia Gandhi's evocative piece calling out Modi Govt's silence and inaction for our Palestinian brothers and sisters whose children have been brutally targeted is a stark reminder of how our current foreign policy has alienated our historical allies in Palestine, Iran, and the larger Middle East. We have also distanced ourselves from global public opinion.
"The spirit of Indian nationhood demands that we speak up for our Palestinian brothers and sisters whose children have been so brutally targeted. The calculus of national interest demands that we respond to the global public opinion against the Israeli regimeтАЩs genocidal actions in Gaza and its brutal displacement and dispossession of lakhs of Palestinian families in the occupied West Bank. The Modi governmentтАЩs continued silence simply cannot be explained rationally or morally".

We pay our heartfelt tributes to Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, fondly remembered as Sam Bahadur, whose exemplary leadership was instrumental in IndiaтАЩs triumphant victory over Pakistan during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.
Across an illustrious four-decade military career and five wars, he embodied courage, integrity, and selfless service, leading the Armed Forces with exceptional valour and distinction.
One of IndiaтАЩs greatest military commanders, his legacy of leadership, patriotism, and unwavering dedication to the nation will forever inspire generations.
тАЬWe are slipping further into IsraelтАЩs strategic orbit, at a time when the world is increasingly pivoting away from it. The Prime MinisterтАЩs visit to Israel will go down in history as a bewildering strategic decision.
The spirit of Indian nationhood demands that we speak up for our Palestinian brothers and sisters whose children have been so brutally targeted.тАЭ
Through her editorial, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji calls on India to reclaim its independent foreign policy, uphold humanitarian values, and speak up with moral clarity on Gaza.
