I just want to give a heartfelt thank you to @tkmiles & everyone that works/worked creating The Black Tapes, Tanis, and Rabbits. Your love for Seattle/PNW is infectious. It inspired me to visit a friend there, I met the love of my life there, and now I’m moving there next week!
Tomorrow @Spotify drops QUIET PART LOUD, a 12-episode horror podcast series from Jordan Peele/@Monkeypaw Productions. It’s written by @macwrites & me. We’ve been working secretly on this thing for the last couple years and it’s really exciting that it’s finally about to come out.
This is your sign to write that weird, unhinged story you think nobody will want to publish. I promise you will find a home for it. I have a book coming out tomorrow I thought would never see the light of day. There will be many rejections along the way. You only need one “yes.”
If you read any of my books, I hope they inspire you to be weird/dark/queer as fuck. I spent so many years obsessing over what “popular” people thought of me. To them, I was a freak. I still am. But who cares? Be weird. Write weird. The best people in this world are weird. 😈
Writers around the world, and horror writers in particular, lost a legend. Peter Straub passed away on September 4, 2022, after a long illness. He was 79 years old. He won multiple Bram Stoker, World Fantasy, and August Derleth awards.

I’m going over the final proof file for They Were Here Before Us with @muranofiction, and I forgot I wrote a scene with “disembowelment” tbh. I’ll always remember the “art-as-torture” bit, however. That’s the good stuff. This one goes hard. Proceed with caution, friends. 😬
