The Fred Mitchell Award recognized CSU Pueblo’s Jackson Smith as a Kicker of the Week! Smith continues to deliver one of the most impressive seasons in the nation. Smith went 2-for-2 this week with field goals from 51 and 24 yards in the ThunderWolves’ overtime win.

He is now 14-for-15 on the year, including an astounding 3-of-4 from 50+ yards — highlighted by a record-breaking 60-yard BOMB earlier this season that shattered a 50-year-old CSU Pueblo record.

60-yard field goals are rare. But one that clears the uprights by 15 yards? That’s nearly unheard of. Watch the incredible 51 and 60-yard kick in the video below.

The Fred Mitchell Award recognizes the following Week 11 Kickers of the Week:

Jackson Smith – CSU Pueblo (DII) went 2-for-2 with makes from 51 and 24 yards, both critical in a 41-34 OT win. Smith is now 14-15 on the year and among the nation’s leaders with three 50+ yarders, including a 60-yard bomb earlier this season.

Ryan Short – Butler University (FCS) was perfect 3-for-3 on the day, drilling kicks from 45, 44, and 43 yards. Short improves to 13-14 on the season and remains 5-for-5 on FGs of 40+ yards.

Garth White – University of Rhode Island (FCS) went 2-for-2 with clutch conversions from 52 and 43 yards. White is now 10-13 this season, with six makes of 40+ yards and a long of 54.
