Since 2006 we've run an app predicting World Cup matches, built to show what Oracle APEX can do.
Today we're launching the World Cup 2026 edition https://t.co/VLDHW746g6
The twist: we upgraded our Euro 2024 version to APEX 26.1 with APEXlang using (almost) only AI!

@mortenbraten@JaysonHanes@dgielis Once the orphaned metadata is removed and the APEXlang is imported, it's gone forever. Lots of updates have been made to the Builder to prevent this from happening in more modern releases; source of most issues will be from older apps.
@dgielis outlines a possible scenario that you may encounter - especially with older applications.
The good news is that it's relatively simple to mitigate, and once you do, you won't need to ever again since APEXlang is much more strict about orphaned or older metadata.
Not even two weeks later, we’re dropping the first APEXlang Skills update!
Run 'skills sync' from SQLcl, or 'git pull' if you cloned the repo.
Includes reported issue fixes plus syntax and filename cleanup.

New in APEX 26.1 Part2: APEXlang makes it easier to export, edit, validate, generate, and import Oracle APEX applications using APEX Builder, SQL Developer for VS Code, and SQLcl.
Build with a more source-driven, developer-friendly workflow.

Some great feedback about APEXlang & APEX 26.1 from the folks at @jmjcloud:
"APEX is still a remarkably fast way to ship data-rich enterprise applications; APEXlang finally makes those applications behave like real source code..."

@phartenfeller@JuergenSchuster@orclapexworld If you have your table + view definitions in your local repo - or you generate a file that contains them all (SQL Workshop > Describe tables) and put them in your repo, the LLM doesn't even need to connect to the DB, saving time + tokens.
@JuergenSchuster Thanks for the kind words!
MCP is used to safely connect an AI to a schema, giving the developer more control over what the AI can do. Not required but strongly recommended.
The public Oracle APEX GitHub repository now includes APEXlang exports for sample, starter, and utility apps.
📥 Download them directly from the public apps page https://t.co/pLpVwigLyw

Danke schön @DOAGeV for having me at APEX Connect this year!
Excited to see what your members do with APEXlang now that they have the knowledge to get started.
We will be posting a lot more about it in the coming weeks!
