Sophie’s generous determination to do justice to the study participants, to critically reflect on the researcher’s positionality, and to note the researcher's personal appreciation for feminist inspirations marked this as a dissertation permeated by feminist geography.
The #SSQRG panel are delighted to award the 2024 Undergraduate Dissertation Prize to Sophie Reuben, BA(Hons) Geography, Durham University, for the dissertation "Boundaries, intimacy and postfeminism: A feminist geographic exploration into OnlyFans". Read decision here 👇
Building on key feminist geographic scholarship, it also challenges Geography’s supposed disciplinary boundaries – boundaries of respectability, of intimacy, and of bodies. Finally, the panel were struck by the outstanding research methodology that underpinned the dissertation.
