If you're keeping track of the long list of things this admin's done that flies in the face of MAHA, censoring and ultimately losing the top intramural nutrition scientist studying food processing and health is definitely towards the top.
To talk about children with autism like this - like they are irreparably damaged and a burden to society - is ignorant, mean and callous.
This man simply has no idea what he’s talking about. He brings shame to America.
Last night I was verbally assaulted and followed on my way home. As a trans woman this is what we have to deal with in Trumps America simply for existing. Trans woman should be able to go through the world without fear of being ridiculed for who they are. Stay safe y’all 🏳️⚧️
Pancreatic Cancer and Glioblastoma are together two of the most lethal cancers. This is not hype - it’s reality. We should be investing more on research in these diseases. Not “zeroing out” the funds. Trying to understand the rationale here.
Saw a patient who was DNR, but quite young….asking him why, he kept saying, “they just want to leave me to die, so I don’t want to live.”
Turns out “they” was his lack of insurance, and “I don’t want to live” was not wanting to live a life without the treatment he needed for his chronic disease.
When I informed him he qualified for our county-based insurance which would allow him to get treatment…he immediately changed to full code.
This was the first time I’ve seen code status dependent on insurance status…
Smh, what has #healthcare come to.
🚨 BREAKING: This ad, when tested, moves public opinion as much as 4 points away from Trump & Republicans.

Turns out Americans don’t like their health care getting cut so billionaires can get a tax cut.
Hunter Schafer reveals that her new passport now lists her sex as male instead of female, following Trump’s instatement:
“I’m not making this post to fear-monger, or to create drama, or receive consolation, I don’t need it. But I do think it’s worth posting to sort of note the reality of the situation and that it’s happening. I was shocked. I just didn’t think it was actually going to happen. I want to acknowledge my privilege, not only as a celebrity transwoman who is white […] I pass, and it still happened. […] No one, no matter how wealthy or white or pretty or whatever is excluded. […] I don’t give a f**k that they put an ‘M’ on my passport. It doesn’t change really anything about me or my transness, however, it does make life a little harder. I’m pretty sure it’s gonna come along with having to out myself to border patrol agents […] much more often than I would like to or is really necessary. And thinking about other trans women or other trans people who this might be happening to.”
Distilling the potential impact of science based on a title is so dangerous. Some of the biggest biomedical breakthroughs came from research that, at first glance, seemed ‘pointless or unrelated. Here are a few that I'm sure might have caused an uproar in the headlines:
Gene editing technology began by people studying salt marshes. Ozempic began by folks studying the venom of Gila monsters. Support for basic science has empowered us to understand our world. Tethering it to applications health has transformed and saved countless lives.
I'm all for going after waste, fraud, and abuse. The Department of Defense spends $800+ billion a year. It's never passed a single audit. Ever.
USAID was audited three months ago.
Is Elon scared to lose all the defense contract money he pockets from the Pentagon?
🚨BREAKING. From a program officer at the National Science Foundation, a list of keywords that can cause a grant to be pulled. I will be sharing screenshots of these keywords along with a decision tree. Please share widely. This is a crisis for academic freedom & science.
A personal story about how the potential grant funding freeze might affect science. Right now, I'm in my fourth year of a 5-year NIH grant and my last year of funding is supposed to start February 1st. I'm supporting a postdoc, two graduate students, and two lab managers
