You’re 2026 Olympic bronze medalist🥉 Shun Sato 🇯🇵 186.20 / 274.90
Some more quotes:
On mental preparation:
"I approached this competition thinking I would just enjoy it. From the team event to the individual event, I gave everything I had. I skated with the intention of giving my absolute best, for everyone who came here to watch."
On his skate and if he thought a medal was possible:
"I was ninth after the short program. I was still frustrated that I hadn't been able to perform at my full potential. But I never gave up. Heading into the free skate, I had controlled things well in the team event, so I held onto that positive image and focused on my own performance, thinking I would do my best."
On how he was feeling while sitting on the leader chair:
"I really didn’t think I’d make the podium, so I was watching the other skaters’ performances and thinking about how I could use that for next time. You don’t often get the chance to watch and learn from them like that, so with the World Championships coming up, I was watching the final group’s performances and analyzing them, thinking about what I could take away for myself."
On competing alongside Yuma and Kao:
"We spent a lot of time together as the three of us, and I gained a lot of inspiration from that. Looking back, I really feel that it's special that the three of us met. We worked hard together as a trio, and I want us to keep pushing forward together."
