Where I was buying fuel just now, I paid 26k instead of 25k… Intentionally.

While counting the money, I told the person beside me I was adding 1k to tip the attendant- a guy.

So, I gave the cash.

26k.

He counted the first time.

Then recounted the second time, because I believed he saw an excess.

The person with me already detected that too.

But he kept calm.

So I asked:

“Is it complete?”

And he said yes.

As I engaged my gear, I told him to count again that it was 26k.

He counted it, saw the 1k excess, and said Oh.

“Please bring the 1k; I added it intentionally to tip you, but you are not faithful.”

And honestly, this is becoming a big issue.

I have seen this in my own personal businesses as well...

Where someone would mistakenly send money into our account, and the staff would deduct that money from sales, thinking the person wouldn’t show up after that day.

It is Well.

But you are doing more harm to yourself than the immediate benefit of not being faithful.

It is sad.

@tndwoo The reason why it matters abroad is that grad schools, scholarships, and jobs often have hard cutoffs like 3.0, 3.3, or 3.5.
A 3.5/5.0 = 2.8 might miss a 3.0 cutoff.
A 4.2/5.0 = 3.36 clears it comfortably.

On a US 4.0 scale: 3.5 = 2.8 and 4.2 = 3.36.
That 0.56 difference can decide if you meet the school cutoff.
