October is the month of the Holy Rosary! What is a Rosary? It is a Catholic prayer based upon the Bible, focussing on events in the life of Jesus and Mary, the Mother of Jesus.
Ilam Hall update: we have had the most wonderful time at Ilam Hall and are sad to be leaving after a fun packed week with our friends. The children are looking forward to being back with their families soon though! The office will be providing arrival time updates.
6D Ilam Hall update: today, 6D went river dipping and found lots of minibeasts! They also did some tree rubbings and enjoyed their last full day together while away.
6M Ilam Hall update: the children enjoyed their final full day today. They went for a walk around Ilam Park, learning about some of the history of the area, and then spent some time identifying trees by their leaves and making some rubbings.
6D Ilam Hall update: today 6D have put their co-operation skills to the test with some team building challenges. They communicated fantastically and showed good patience and understanding to achieve their goals.
6M Ilam Hall update: today it was 6M's turn to venture up Thorpe Cloud. They did fantastically well and showed amazing perseverance and determination (and an ice cream may have helped too!!)
6D Ilam Hall update: 6D had a tiring yet rewarding day on a long hike up Thorpe Cloud. Everyone made it to the top and were very proud of their achievement which was celebrated with an ice cream at the bottom.
6M Ilam Hall update: Yesterday, 6M got to get up-close to nature while river dipping and minibeast hunting. They then had great fun exploring maps and putting these skills to the test while orienteering around Ilam Park in the afternoon.
6M Ilam Hall update: 6M had a wonderful first day completing trust and team building activities. It's been lovely to spend time with our friends and are excited about a fun-filled schedule ahead of us this week.

Year 5 have loved our two week poetry unit using Poems from the Edge of Nature. We read The Abyss, Lava Boarding and Snow Leopard. We used Night Walker to inspire us to write Day Walker. We tried to use similar poetic features as you. Hope you enjoy reading them! @philipgrossuk
St Thomas Aquinas Feast Day - we had a fantastic day celebrating our patron saint with Mass, games, crafts and treats. Thank you to all who joined in with the celebrations.
Year 5 have enjoyed reading your To Asgard poem during our English lessons as we have been learning about the Vikings. We used it to inspire our own versions of your amazing poem - we tried to keep the syllable pattern and rhyming structure! We hope you enjoy them. @RachelPoet
