If you have things that aren't so great, build your narrative as to WHY those things happened.
And try to make sure that's somewhere in your narrative, essay, wherever you can put that stuff in.
We focus too much on numbers in medicine, not the person.
Not their story.
This one's for women, introverts, mothers, children of immigrants, first gen MDs, and anyone who's ever been told they are too quiet or don't otherwise fit into the surgery club. #ILookLikeASurgeon and so do you.
A huge thank you to the Department of Pathology for inviting me to commemorate #WorldBloodDonorDay. Great to see our faculty and students highlighting the importance of donating blood to keep the world beating.
