On this day in 2003, Silent Hill 3 launched physically on PlayStation 2, bringing Heather Mason's unforgettable journey to horror fans and becoming one of the PS2's most iconic survival horror titles.

It arrived the way PlayStation games were meant to:

A physical disc.
Iconic box art.
A printed manual.

A game you could own, display, replay, and preserve.

That's the PlayStation millions of us grew up with.

It's a shame the company that helped define physical collecting is now walking away from it.
