So... let me get this right. A small employer who employs 10 employees, is going to pay 20k more a year for the NMW increase but will save less than £200 on class2 NI? No class4 savings as there won't be any profits to tax #AutumnStatement
Imagine the cost of childcare and meals out from next April!
I believe that the lowest paid in society need the govs help but the NMW is not help from the government, it's help from their employer. A better solution would be an increase in the PA or tax cuts for the low paid.
@FirstYork Thanks for the apology. We were walking along Clarence Street at 7.40am. I didn't notice the route number, but it was a single decker heading away from York centre towards the hospital and the driver didn't slow for the large puddles next to the pavement.
Love sending my child to school absolutely drenched @FirstYork . Your drivers either need to learn how to drive in wet weather - or not be sociopaths that think it's fun to drive at speed through puddles next to footpaths.
The next First Thursday is the 1st June (halfway through the year already!)
Please bear in mind that the meeting falls in school holidays... although this appeared to have no impact at all at Easter.

@elismore2 @abigailthaw I thought that too but then when I tried again later, I could access. I think it's partially to do with the fact ITVx is really hard to navigate.
I love the Museum Gardens - one of my favourite places. They had their first pop up plant shop of the year today and Mia bought me these daffs for Mother's Day.
Also, how cute are the bug bar walls?

Head to our first Pop Up Plant Shop of the year and browse our beautiful spring bulbs – the perfect Mother’s Day gift! 🌼
Saturday 18 March, 10:30-3pm.

So, have I understood this correctly? The #childcare reform can't come into effect immediately - Sept 24 before the promised 30 hrs kicks in BUT the pension changes to help very high earners takes effect next month?
#Budget2023#pregnantthenscrewed
@Roxy_xxxx @PregnantScrewed They think they have said enough to shut everyone up for a bit... just kick it down the road. Hopefully they won't be the government by that time...#ToriesOut
Well the #Budget2023 was - in shocking news - a total waste of time. Any useful policies won't come in for months if not years...
The 'full expensing' of assets already exists so this new policy will only help companies investing over £1m in assets. ONE MILLION. Ridiculous.
