My local MP was a Labour MP, career politician. Parked his fancy Jaguar outside his constituency office and his supply teacher wife described all their fancy holidays to us poor, working class kids. Pair of condescending snobs. Out of touch and left a lasting impression. These people don’t care about us. Never did, never will.
Everything I’ve said can be searched up. Politics isn’t picking your favourite football team, although that’s what it was like every time the now Sir Brian Donohoe got re-elected again and again. When he finally got booted out he told his constituents to fuck off. A really charming, intelligent man. They are all career politicians and their main objective, is to remain a career politician.
@RachelD1892 He cares about what all career politicians do, power and staying in power. We should have terms. An MP should only be allowed to serve for a maximum of of two 4 year terms. Less if voted out. Otherwise they make decisions based upon their own interests.
Are they? Because it was Tony Blair’s government who originally pushed for inclusion and mainstream education. Against the views of education professionals. Remember his dumb three R’s propaganda? When you restructure an education system away from meeting the needs of individuals and towards providing a generalised approach aimed at those of middle capacity, this is what happens. Labour doesn’t want people to do better or meet their potential, they want average, compliant students with low critical thinking skills. My children suffer because they see the flaws in the approach and get victimised for it.
Yes they were, before the transatlantic trade started. Plus, just for info, the reason they didn’t breed slaves in the Arab slave trade (even though it predates the transatlantic trade by almost a thousand years and still continues) was because they castrated the black African male slaves. Most were prepubescent and died during the procedures. As I said above, thousands of years of barbaric history and America is a relatively young nation.
Fees have increased dramatically. Long before the latest attack on private schools. Parents paying for private schools pay higher rates of tax to fund a school system that they don’t use, and now they’ll be charged VAT too on the private education they are funding. Does that sound fair?
This is the most British working class attitude I’ve heard today. One thing America does better than here is the ‘American dream’. Here, all we do is pull others down. If I can’t have it, no one can. I’m working class that worked hard and did better for myself and it’s amazing how other’s hate you for it. We need a better attitude in general and that’d feed into children from parents, teachers and society.
@RestoreCheshire I know this is a thought experiment but for front line workers it is a real consideration. With a costly consequence if they choose wrong. With the emergency services the way they are, it’s not like they can request and be assured female paramedics.
No shit. Naive officials with zero real life experience offer free money and the first to take advantage are those who feel no shame. How many hard working Brits that have fallen on hard times yet feel too ashamed to ask for help? Or worse, ask for help and are laughed out of the job centre? Disgusting conduct by our government.
Do you know what the true problem is? You won’t like this. The middle class and those who are retired always suffers the brunt of every budget. They get no help but get squeezed the most. And when something awful happens that drastically changes their circumstances (like a spouses death for example) there’s no help. Charities fill the gap.
Yes, unfortunately you can’t fix stupid. Our history teachers (as left leaning snp supporters) let classes of children watch Mel Gibson play William Wallace as part of structured lessons. Very little context was supplied. Then they wanted to lower voting age to 16 so that they could get more votes for Independence. We have multiple generations of brainwashed people unfortunately. The slavery angle is always narrowly focused though. The Irish especially were enslaved properly and sent to America and Australia. They were not indentured.
