@rebel19 And it does matter. My 20 year old daughter who is not normally a reader was in my library recently to find something and commented how many books I had from black authors in there. It mattered who it was filling my mind with.
@rebel19 Thank you for the list of resources. As an adoptive mom I have read many black authors but am always looking for more to add to my list for knowledge and understanding. I so appreciate you sharing your perspective and thoughts.
@emilykmay I would love it and have a few friends I have done this for. When it has worked well the expectations were very clear up front on alone versus family time for both parties. And I was happy to give the couple a night out as a thank you. It works great with a preexisting relationsh
@exfundiediary After having a really sucky birthday I was given this piece of advice. Im going to try it. Plan the best day for you that you are excited about doing by yourself. Invite others to join if they want but plan your day by yourself for the things that bring you joy!
@confessinmill@tspencer That is a great church and has lots of great people in it!!! And it has a beautiful building. Praying for revival to come to that area! Welcome back home!
Lament names what is broken.
Hope names what is still good.
Faith says both can be true at the same time.
Our world is broken.

So thankful for The Chapel and all their help and support this morning. It was such a great way to acknowledge all the hard work our staff are doing! THANK YOU! #laremont#sedol#sedolstrong
I often find myself suggesting to God all the ways He could surely fix my circumstances. But I’m learning that God loves me too much to do things my way.
His plan is always better even if I can’t understand or see it clearly as it’s unfolding.
Today is a good day to say, “enough.” I’ve done my part, now I must let God do His.
I can stop pushing.
I can stop trying to control.
This doesn’t mean I give up. It means I give over to God what was never mine to carry.
My job is obedience to God. His job is everything else.

Next time I see a person’s sharp edges, I want to listen for the story that shattered them, expecting to see
the God who has held them together.
