This gave me instant chills. My daughter was 4 and was singing Christmas carols at senior center with her preschool during the Sandy Hook shooting. I remember knowing it could have been her. THIS MUST CHANGE.
@tweeword@poppy_confesses@ihoelt@Theholisticpsyc@dia_2008 Once I started doing that, with the help of my therapist, separation and then divorce came shortly thereafter. Now I know how to set those boundaries and let people show me with their actions how they are going to behave, and I can decide if I’m ok with it or not…
An emotionally immature partner hasn’t learned to cope with their own shame. This makes them highly reactive and defensive. Everything feels like a personal attack.
I'm furious that the #1 killer of kids in this country is gun violence.
And it's a uniquely American problem.
We should not, we cannot, accept living like this — and that’s why we’re taking action in Michigan.
Having an emotionally mature partner is important af. You’re able to express your thoughts and feelings, openly and freely. They don’t insult you, they don’t ignore you, they don’t become aggressive, or manipulative. They listen, they respond, they patiently hold space for you.
The quality of your life has everything to do with your closest relationships. Have you built relationships where you can: have boundaries, say no, and fully express yourself without fear? Do your relationships support you in becoming the best version of yourself? If they don't, it's time to evaluate and re-build.
@detrussy Yeah, I get it, but I don’t get it. I understand the attachment, but it’s an organization and a business. There will be new players that we will love as well. It sucks, but it is what it is.
