The Father has promised the nations to His Son, and He keeps His promises.

The nations will be discipled; the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ; Paul's aim of establishing the "obedience of faith among the Gentiles" will be realized.

Over millennia, the theocracy that already exists in the heavens has taken, and will take, ecclesial and political form on earth through the suffering witness of those who walk by the Spirit of Jesus.

That’s reality, and it stimulates an expansive imaginative realism.

So: Don’t accept the limits of what you think you see. Walk by faith in the promises of God, not by sight.

Expect God to toss mountains into the sea. Expect to trample Satan underfoot.

Don’t focus on the apparent meagerness of the resources at hand, but on the infinite treasury of God. “The things [God] gives are not in short supply” (Sam Wells).

We lack nothing. In our Father's kingdom, there is no scarcity, no shortage.

Imagine what you can do with the “boundless gifts of God” (Wells). Baste your ambition in His promises, then dare to let your ambition loose.

Defy the feeling that you’re tiny and your church, your gifts, your achievements are pathetic.

Instead, “be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”
