Bentancur gets sent off for headbutting Luke Shaw, but the same rules don’t apply to Gabriel when he headbutted Haaland???

You can see who the PL favours the most. https://t.co/IlvH17x7YP

[White Hart Pain @MatthewJoh68046]

@Lilywhite_Rose We've dominated that match, after mass criticism from our fans about the starting lineup. Could and should have been a 4-1 win. Great spirit and enjoyed watching us, we will win matches very soon.

🚨 XABI ALONSO JUST DROPPED A BOMBSHELL ON THE BALLON D’OR

🎙️Reporter: “Xabi, what do you think about the Ballon d’Or nominations? Who do you believe deserves to win?”

Xabi Alonso:🗣️ “For me, the Ballon d’Or has never been only about statistics, goals or assists. It is also about character, leadership, mentality and the way you carry yourself as a footballer.

“When I hear Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé speak about the Ballon d’Or as if it is something they are entitled to, I disagree with that mentality. The Ballon d’Or is an honour. It is not a player’s right.

“Yamal is an extraordinary talent and Mbappé is one of the best players in the world. But talent and reputation alone should not guarantee you this award.

“If you ask me who deserves it based on the complete picture, I would say Harry Kane or Michael Olise. They have shown quality, consistency, mentality and the character you expect from a Ballon d’Or winner.

“You cannot simply assume that because you are Lamine Yamal or Kylian Mbappé, the award should belong to you. That is not how I understand the Ballon d’Or.

“The best player is not necessarily the person who talks the loudest about winning it. Sometimes, the player who deserves the recognition is the one who lets his football speak for him.”

This is not a shit team
This is not a shit performance
This is work in progress
Hold the line

[Monnie®️THFC @RB_THFC]

Sick of people with opinions purely based on the scoreline and already wanting RDZ out. Maybe use your eyes and reset your expectations after finishing 17th whilst playing horror football. If you can't see we are improving and have irrational expectations its on you.

My god, I cannot wait for the tears of these two arrogant kids when the true winner will be revealed.

Destiny will arrive.

[COYS, Alan @CockOnBallStory]

Every time De Zerbi shows any emotion, our fan base are going to panic like some conte PTSD.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this exchange. Pep did this far more than this every week for 10 years.

[Kelvin @THFCKelvin]

This fanbase doesn't have the stomach for a painful rebuild and that's part of the problem, patience is required #THFC

[Hotspur Lane @HotspurLane]

For sure it’s a big game tomorrow evening for #THFC, but it’s CERTAINLY NOT a “Cup Final” four games into the season…🤦‍♂️

Is Aston Villa’s game against Forest a cup final for them as well considering they also haven’t won or scored this season, or is it just because it’s Tottenham? 🤷‍♂️

Beyond Lazy and agenda led punditry…🥱

[ThFc_HS @stampish99]

@MikeyHotspurs Starting already? RDZ out?
You are the problem along with so many others in this fan base.

[Jason @ryantegan]

Miserable lot some of you.

Just support the team

Whinge whinge whinge

Come on you Spurs

[📲💸 @W1LSONODOB3RT]

yo maddison, xavi, kudus, we’ll take it from here

[𝔐𝔦𝔯𝔞𝔠𝔩𝔢 @SpursMiracle]

I know how frustrating this ending to the window is. (Thanks Richy).

But before the window, imagine someone says to u, u will sign:

Marmoush
Savio
Mudryk
Tonali
Fernandes
Senesi
Robertson
Tosin
Van hecke
Dubravka

You would politely say f**k off and be real.

V good window.

[Alasdair Gold @AlasdairGold]

Spurs were having a really well planned-out summer transfer window, at first quick and decisive and then patient with their attacking targets. However, it's all finishing off in a bit of a frantic grab and go fashion, as it will for most clubs.
The Cody Gakpo situation has had a big domino effect in first Spurs wanting him but being usurped by City and then City in turn being unable to get the Dutchman from Liverpool so instead jumping across for Tottenham's next choice Iliman Ndiaye.
It means Spurs have had to drop down their wishlist and Kevin Danso asking to leave was another spanner in the works. I think De Zerbi and most fans would rather have kept him over many of the alternatives.
I just about get the Mudryk thinking as squad cover if, and it's a big if, De Zerbi can get the best out of him again after their Shakhtar time together, but it would only make sense if Spurs then had the option to sign him after a loan.
All in all, still a £400m Tottenham transfer window like no other, and there's still tomorrow. Who knows what deadline day might bring.

Tottenham’s last Premier League penalty:

HOME: 25th May 2025 (Dominic Solanke)

AWAY: 13th May 2023 (Harry Kane)

[Mike @MikeGNolan]

So what do we think...

Sack RDZ? Mason is out of work

Drop Tonali, Fernandes, Marmoush?

Bring back in Sarr, Bergvall and Gallagher?

Or maybe, just maybe, we could all just get a grip and not be the reactionary, short sighted fans that the likes of TalkSport want us to be?

[Luka - Fan @Lukathfc]

With 1% more luck Porro scores that sitter in the box or we get that clear pen.

Tonight is so frustrating, but I have belief.

[ThFc_HS @stampish99]

@ClipInsanity Or maybe be the guy that does the right thing. He might be a cop out of duty and has obligation to do that.

[SpursXtra @SpursXtra_]

You can criticise #Romero. You can question his professionalism. You can even want him gone.

But you cannot rewrite his Spurs career just because the relationship has soured. A bad ending doesn’t erase what came before it.
Cuti deserves his flowers. #THFC

[Hotspur Lane @HotspurLane]

🚨🎙️ Roberto De Zerbi says his relationship with the #THFC board is the BEST he’s ever had at a club! 👀🇮🇹

"We are working very well, it's my best connection with the board.” 🤝
