I met a guy last night at a Super Bowl party --- things were going great until he said (proudly) "Yeah, I voted for Biden & Harris! I don't support the US military and Trump & Musk are terrible people -- I'd never buy a Tesla and support them."
Then I said "Ah, that's too bad, I just put money down on a Cybertruck & I got all these tatts while serving active duty."
I then excused myself to go to the restroom & never came back.
💯👏
@JonFranklin63 Best of luck with sales Jon - here's my reaction. 'For anybody interested in racing or who is yet to be convinced of its merits, this book is a great read. Buy, buy!'
@zitacollier_ Sorry Zita, didn't mean to pigeon-hole you as a serial academic - you are capable of many other things from what I've read of your work. Re LFC: these are the last weeks for some of Klopp's team and they've done brilliantly to be close to the Title. But Slot XI will be new faces.
Very sorry to hear that Paddy Barclay has passed away. He was a brilliant writer on football, fair, insightful, witty but never snide. He was a good companion in a pressbox, more so if you were travelling on the same train as him after a match. Condolences to his family.
@aufwiedpet@sundayforsammy@FACTCancer What a Christmas gift! The 40th Anniversary AWP shows at Newcastle's O2 in May raised £87,450 for charities created by Tim and Jimmy: 'Sunday for Sammy (drama and music training for youngsters); FACT (cancer research project). Huge thanks to the performers, organisers and fans.
Very to sorry to hear of Frankie Beverly's passing last week. He was one of the most likeable singers on the soul scene backed by his brass-free musicians Maze. His voice was a gentle growl whether on ballads or upbeat dance-floor numbers. Thanks Frankie. https://t.co/kZ7XoHWjKi
@AdrianTempany Adrian, sorry to be late replying to your kind words, I caught COVID in July. I want to thank you for your epic book on Hillsborough and its consequences. I'm LFC born/bred so it really hit home. I was at the '88 semi when LFC fans got the Kop. If only 1989 had stayed the same.
@chunkymark Unfortunate choice of phrase - 'pregnant with horrors' from an amoral oaf who has fathered more children than we know. 'Spaffing' in life as he did in politics.
@MartinR87271882@JonFranklin63 Unduly kind Martin, the experience was all a bit anticlimactic in the end with the trainer running off to Spain to tour his Elvis impression. Not something Michael Stoute had to do. But I'm chuffed you liked it.
@KatyushaBoom They shat out Van Gaal within an hour of him winning the FA Cup in 2016. Whoever gets the job should be warned that success is not enough and that history is against them - only three MUFC managers have won the Championship/Premier League, Ernest Mangnall, Busby, Ferguson.
