Context matters.
The point I'm making with saying men and women are not equal in a marriage is that you all have different roles to play.

In any group there is a leader.
The man leads and the woman follow in support.

Yes your wife should complement you and make things smooth for you. That's the support role while lead her right.

This is not to lessen her value or make it a master-servant type of relationship.

Every team has a captain.
Some one bares the responsibility to lead and the other support.

More like a vice to a president/ chairman.

A woman is not designed to shoulder the burden of leadership cause it end up breaking their maternal instincts that keeps them feminine.

Feminization of men has made you all forget you have different roles to play in a marriage.

If you both work and foot the bill together it's fine.

Doesn't mean you are equal to him.
He leads while you follow.

Not being equal to him is not meant to lessen your values, it's basically a chain of commands and how instructions and plans are being discussed and carried out.
He leads and you follow doesn't make you less important, just know your role and do it to the max.

Knowing you are meant to support him while he leads is the key.

This is not meant to lessen your value to that of a maid.
More like a vice to a president, without you he is definitely gonna fall apart.

Understanding this dynamics build stronger and healthier relationship instead of a mindless struggle for power.

Y'all want to lead in a marriage which will only lead to chaos.
It's just that simple.

People mostly get married to start a family with children.

But if y'all don't want children yet then it's a discussion between you guys on the steps to take as a family not advice from random internet people that don't give a damn about you.

The only reason women don't dominate is because they are physically weaker than men.
