@CSLewisDaily Gloria Patri.
Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost as it was in the beginning is now an ever shall be world without end Amen.
God hasn't bypassed the church but Mark Driscoll has. They aren't the same. When 2 or 3 and the elders came to Driscoll he told them to pound sand.
Jesus, otoh, said, "Lo, I will be with you til the end of the age."

@RealCandaceO Jordan Peterson was right about you. You do take the Lord's in vain. For so long you do not emphasize your love for Jesus Christ or neighbor, but rather yourself instead. The eucharist you take is also in judgment instead of grace.
1 Corinthians 11:27, Matthew 7:21-23
@jordanbpeterson@RealCandaceO Well said sir. As the Lord Jesus Christ once said, these people profess me with their lips but their hearts are far from me.
Candace Owens @RealCandaceO a true Pharasaical pretender. She vociferously proclaims her devotion to Christ for no other reason that to elevate her perceived status. Her outrage is designed not to shout the truth from the rooftops, build bridges or make peace, but to subvert Christianity itself--with its new force--to her own purposes. She is literally using God's name in vain. There are few more unforgivable sins.
@conservmillen Your political bias has blinded you from saying otherwise. In your eyes Israel could do no wrong. But that is what your followers are made up of, saying anything different your support is not as strong.
The gospel frees us to obey knowing that if we fail - we fail into a fellowship in Christ we can’t lose.
So, go for it this year:
Give up booze.
Read the Bible more.
Give generously, spend less, save wisely.
Exercise & eat well.
Growth is good.
But it isn’t gospel.
Christian, in the gospel, you receive by faith not only the perfect righteousness of Christ as your fulfillment of all the law's demands, you also receive the perfect satisfaction of Christ for all your sins.
All your debt paid in full, and all his credit applied to you. This is GOOD NEWS!
So much of the Christian life is just hanging on.
Yes, we should have a theology of flourishing, growing, riding the wave.
But as I age and talk with other Christians, earnest but embattled, I'm learning that much of the Christian life is simply not giving up.
Often, hanging on *is* riding the wave.
"...the sufferings and death of Christ for the sins of men, signified by the serpent's bruising his heel, bringing him to the dust of death in his inferior nature, sometimes expressed by his being bruised for the sins of his people..."

@msmelaniereyes Amen God be praised.
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God;
1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
"That there is one God, even the pagans know from nature—as Plato and Aristotle & others prove. However, that there is a single God in three, distinguishable persons, only those who have & accept God’s Word know." - Nicholas Selnecker (quoted in Ref. Comm. on Scrip. Psalms 1-72)
