Appalling bullying by Airbnb. BnB has been an abbreviation for “bed and breakfast” for decades. That’s why Airbnb chose its name. Under trademark law, the term “BnB” is a descriptive phrase and cannot be trademarked. Support the underdog. Let’s make this a PR disaster for Airbnb

Airbnb sent three legal letters starting in May demanding that bnb-side, a six-room guesthouse on the Isle of Portland in Dorset, cease using its name. The San Francisco company argues the term infringes its $100bn brand; bnb-side, a social enterprise supporting the local b-side arts festival, contends 'bnb' is a standard abbreviation for bed and breakfast.
Rocca Holly-Nambi, director of b-side, said: "We thought the name was both really obvious and really cool.
