@KaareJohnson When you tear down public art that identifies a place for generations you destroy the nature of that place forever.
But Mitch knew that. You all knew that.
The conservative movement gets endless clicks and views crusading against DEI but when you look at their hiring and staffing it looks just as woke as any college administration
Greasy Gavin and Bonehead Bonta are the real life slick-haired archetypal douchebag villains we've seen in every movie.
Now they're coming to destroy the Hollywood for good, over petty politics.
The Paramount sabotage is...way worse than you think.
Meet Amy DeCastro, the senior vice president of human resources for the North American division of Schneider Electric.
As part of her job, DeCastro plays a major role in planning the high-level strategy for international hiring, including H-1B compliance.
While she is not directly involved with hiring, she does design the frameworks that allow the H-1B process to happen efficiently. As a top regional executive, DeCastro influences the operational budget allocated to the talent acquisition teams that are charged with managing immigration filings and international relocation.
Currently, the company sponsors more than 140 active H-1B applications nationwide annually. The overwhelming majority of its corporate visa workers are concentrated in Boston and Franklin, Tennessee. There are also H-1B employees working at the nearby plant in Smyrna, which is located about 30 minutes northeast of Franklin. Smyrna used to be a blue-collar area primarily composed of black and white Americans. Over the past 25 years, the city has seen a significant influx of both legal and illegal immigrants, forcing out longtime residents.
DeCastro is a longtime employee of Schneider Electric. She completed her undergraduate and graduate education at Salve Regina University, a private Catholic institution with a tuition rate of more than $75,000 per academic year.
While her compensation package remains private, estimates put her salary in the $500,000 range, which allows her the ability to live in an upscale neighborhood in Providence, Rhode Island, far removed from the changing demographics of Smyrna and Franklin.
DeCastro's career perfectly illustrates the vast distance between corporate policy and community reality. From her secure enclave in Providence, she manages the legal channels, budgets, and frameworks that continuously reshape working-class towns halfway across the country.
The influx of international labor may be a successful strategic initiative on a spreadsheet for Schneider Electric, but for Tennesseans, the policies cause a permanent disruption to the place they once called home.
That's the funny thing about programming. You see, software doesn't "error", judge, take wrong turns or act independently.
Software does exactly what it is programmed to do.
Remember when they used to pretend to be for e-verify and now it's just like "fuck you we always knew they were illegal and now we're just going to make them legal because, again, fuck you."
Meet Robert Cain, the senior vice president and chief information officer for the North American division of Schneider Electric.
Cain is a U.S. Army Ranger veteran who oversees the technology and digital transformation strategy for the region. While human resources handles the initial resume screening, Cain makes the final decision on who is hired within his specific IT division.
He determines how the division's budget is spent, which includes approving the necessary funding required for the department's H-1B hiring and on-boarding requests.
Because Schneider Electric is an active H-1B visa sponsor, Cain can utilize the company's existing corporate immigration framework to bring in foreign nationals.
The University of Michigan alumnus primarily works remotely from his home in Ann Arbor, but he travels to company-owned locations throughout the year to oversee operations. Estimates put his salary in the $500,000 range, which enables him to live in an upscale neighborhood removed from the demographic changes affecting the areas where his department hires.
The contradiction between Cain’s public advocacy for hiring U.S. military veterans and his simultaneous utilization of the H-1B program to import foreign labor is striking. Is he genuinely unaware of the vast number of non-veteran Americans in urgent need of well-paying jobs, or do company profit margins simply take precedence over the livelihood of Americans?
Meet Kelly Becker, the executive vice president of North America operations at Schneider Electric in Nashville.
Her academic background and career would be admirable if it weren’t for the fact that she supports hiring foreigners over Americans.
Becker is a fellow Southerner who grew up in Louisiana. She attended the prestigious Louise S. McGehee School, which costs more than $20,000 a year to attend. After graduating high school, she joined the Texas Christian University community. TCU is also privately run. Its tuition runs more than $80,000 per academic year. Even more impressive, she graduated with a master of business administration degree from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Tuition there runs almost $90,000 per academic year.
Her career at Schneider Electric has taken her to Ireland and the United Kingdom. After living abroad for a while, she returned this summer to the U.S. to run the North American operations.
It really is sad that a New Orleans native who has experienced so many blessings from the South is apparently incapable of putting her fellow countrymen first before foreigners. Instead of showing appreciation to Southerners for her stellar upbringing that involved amazing opportunities, she is actively helping to destroy the South and its culture with the use of the H-1B visa program.
