Now you know. https://t.co/EiX6hy2COq

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

@thomeagle @LouKellett ooohhh, Scotch Gin!

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

@thomeagle @SimonTardivel tomorrow is going to be a Tom Collins

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

@thomeagle @LouKellett *Scottish

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

@SimonTardivel @thomeagle yes, credit. It was a marvellous idea.

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

However, for an Irn Bru and St Andrews Gin cocktail, it doesn't seem especially Scottish. I shall keep experimenting...... #scotland #ukgin

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

It's actually pretty damn good, though I must admit that I am quite partial to a gin and Sin.

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

Then used it as a grenadine replacement in a Gin and Sin. (I didn't stir it so it looked pretty for the photo)

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

Today, following @thomeagle 's suggestion, I have reduced Irn Bru down into a syrup (in the jar).

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

@thomeagle I know what I am spending my Sunday doing now, thank you.

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

@thomeagle are you suggesting reducing down some Irn Bru? Genius!

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

Gin, Irn Bru, grenadine and crushed ice.

Better, but still very much a work in progress.

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

I'll keep experimenting and report back.

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

but actually, it could maybe benefit from sweetening up a touch, maybe a dash of grenadine or something.

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

I thought it would be cloyingly sweet and would benefit from a dash of bitters or Campari to even things out;

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

They don't. Well not really. The gin actually rather overpowers the Irn Bru, which I was a bit surprised by.

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]

For those of you wondering if Gin and Irn Bru might go well together, the answer might surprise you!

[St Andrews Wine Co @StAndrewsWine]

Fancy trying @harrisdistiller gin? We have none for sale (nobody does) so we also have the rest you see here open too (and have stock)

[Morris Gin Company @standrewsgin]
