@HeidiGASL CapCut works ok if you have the video and upload it you can add the voice over. Allows you to adjust the speeds of the video and audio separately so you can make it match better.
@jessyroos No advice for this, but please check with your life and mortgage insurance company if you have it. A friend of mine was denied a claim due to not disclosing it years after her pregnancy.
We constantly look back and see the impact of our work, but recognize how far we have to go. To be the support for the next wave while still processing your own trauma is a lot.
There is no joy in most of this journey, but we commit to it. We are there day after day, reliving our trauma, and sharing our learning. Adding to the rising tide. There is an emotional toll it takes.
Do you know what happens when you publicly advocate. People reach out to you. And you have to add that as both a motivator and emotional tax. To know your voice impacted someone is huge. To then hold their hand and support them on their journey is a gift. But it's not easy.
@CharOfTheNorth@LiveWireCalgary Thank you for mentioning our little fridge in Woodlands. It's been a journey
From a Rubbermaid tote to a shed in three years, with an enormous amount of community involvement and support . I love to see more of them pop up in the city.
@MarkCherrington Is there a you in Calgary? I have someone who needs more support than I am qualified to provide. I just run a pantry, and I don't have the skill set/experience to help people navigate the system for housing.
@ShantelSherwood Unfortunately, that has been my experience. They will do assessments at the drop of a hat to try and prove that certain accommodation are not necessary. They will delay assessments that they think will show the need for accommodations for others.
@ShantelSherwood Just so you know, because it was a dark and stormy afternoon today. The first thing the school-age kids asked when we walked in the door was, "Can you play the sneaky song?"
@educatorEC @Cool_Hand_Kas @ShantelSherwood @DBirrellAB I explore music with the kids. This is a long-time fav. The kids call it "The Sneaky Song" This saves my sanity when I need a break from kid songs. And the kids love trying to "sneak" past me. https://t.co/E75JNoaIDz
@educatorEC @Cool_Hand_Kas @ShantelSherwood @DBirrellAB But Let It Go has to die. Or maybe that's just me. Found this gem the other day, and now it's stuck in my head https://t.co/CdkGRoDR1A
@danirayt I am passionate about accessibility, equity, and helping people. My volunteer time at the moment is focused on food insecurity, but I have spent a lot of hours doing work on advocacy for kids.
Today, I helped distribute almost 200lbs of free produce that would have ended up in the compost. Perfectly good food that just needed to be processed sooner than what you would buy at a grocery store. It feels like a win, but also a "what the hell, are doing" situation
