@JamesTate121 Bonus: There is a will to make it work. Tax receipts (regardless of taxing schemes) have fluctuated around 40-45% of GDP for generations. In the US (even when taxed at 90%) tax receipts are always within about 18-22%.
@JamesTate121 There is a deeper, richer, more intelligent, more transparent political debate happening than in the US. Both locally and nationally, albeit, with a left leaning bias.
There are 11 political parties, where reaching middle ground is at least considered an important goal.

@JamesTate121 People trust allowing the state to have vital personal information. This makes the entire system MUCH more efficient.
The typical citizen feels a responsiblity to take care of the system and not abuse it. 2/3
@JamesTate121 You pay a lot into the system, but most people are satisfied with what thery get back and happy their less fortunate cousins are also covered
When you use public services, they are pretty well run and you can see the system is streamlined and uses its resources effectively. 1/3
@garyseconomics First off
Immigrants - GREAT! More of that.
Illegal anything - BAD! Incl. immigrants
A compromise
*Crack down hard on monopolies
*Don’t penalise work with income tax
*Tax AI and robots hard
*first prove govt efficiency on a small level (DMV) then ask for more tax
@RpsAgainstTrump I dont understand. Is the idea that people should be allowed to be in the US illegally? Are there other countries that allow this? Is there any popular legislation that would allow for illegal immigrants to be in the country? if you refuse to show your ID, how could they know?
@akafaceUS Starbucks is boring. The coffee drinkers aren’t going anywhere. The 5000 employees will find work in the soon to come mom and pop coffee shops that used to define the neighbourhoods of nyc.
@TheChiefNerd@joerogan@ComicDaveSmith Douglas Murray looked puffy and sick here. He was clearly having a bad day. He’s usually much better than this. I hope he’s ok.
@lxeagle17 I think all courses should have an AI element in it considering how prevalent it’s going to be for their the rest of their careers . Also so that the teachers can help the students understand how AI can best be leveraged in exactly what they’re teaching.
@Aristos_Revenge Fair enough. I just don't see so many people on the right coming with arguments that are particularly persuasive to people on the left. Lindsay has a way of breaking it down using the same language and concepts the left does, making the hypocrisy evident.
@Aristos_Revenge I understand your contempt, but I see him trying to present a voice of reason within the broader dialogue regardless of ideology. Do you think he's dangerous?
