@sheylamiin This film was a very good representation of racism. It was made especially well due to Spike Lee being a black director. He does indeed use his perspective of how black people during the time are being treated and captures that very well on film.
@r22_emily83061 I agree with you with everything that you said. The low camera quality and orange undertone highlight that it took place back in the day to bring awareness to racism. The sad part about this is that racism continues to take place in the modern day and happens every day.

the racial tensions of the 1980s. It is especially emphasized by the intense use of color and dynamic music scores. This use of media was to create a show to combat racism during the time, and unfortunately, there is still racism in the world.

While watching the film, Do the Right Thing, I noticed that one of the main focuses is dealing with racism. Throughout the film, Spike Lee uses heated emotions and escalating tensions in a racially diverse neighborhood. These techniques reflect and respond to (1)
@Shariar39 I agree with this because Lamborghini displays itself as a luxury car brand. It creates a social status that if one owns a Lamborghini, it is automatically assumed that one is wealthy. It divides social classes and ultimately shapes society.
@hellokitty2963 I agree with this, especially due to how cheap products are. Temu constantly throws out crazy deals to attract attention and happens to target the younger audience to buy these "deals." To a young person, these deals might never happen again, which is why teens will buy off Temu.
(3) Nike would sponsor people who are extremely well known by Gen-Z, which draws their attention and causes them to buy the products. These products would then be viewed as something that is better to wear or, in this case, allows one to be better at basketball.

Nike Basketball shoes' target audience is athletes and basketball players, and fashion-conscious consumers. By displaying popular basketball stars, like Lebron James and Devin Booker, fans are more likely to buy these shoes to support (1)
(2) their favorite player. The ad also showcased Travis Scott, an extremely famous rapper who creates shoes with Nike. Fans of Travis Scott are also inclined to buy shoes from Nike because of his global success. It connects with the class due to how TV shapes our perception.
@AUchitelev28614 This is also something I agree with, cable has created so many channels that each channel targets a different demographic than other channel do. This results in people separating to watch what they enjoy, instead of watching it in a group which some people might not enjoy as much
@AUchitelev28614 I agree with this because cable tv's diversity limits shared experiences. This results in more people starting their favorite shows by themselves instead of in a group setting where discussions take place.
Traditional broadcast networks, with scheduled programming, often led to communal watching habits. Cable's on demand and time-shifted viewing can contribute to more individualized watching experiences, which reduces opportunity for shared watching.
#MEDIA180SP1D04 I think cable television has arguably disrupt our sense of community when compared to traditional network television. It first offer diverse channels catering to niche interests and limits shared experiences compared to the limited channel of traditional networks
@zmediaclassacc The majority of social media expects one to be at a certain age, if not then with a guardian overlooking what they do on those websites or apps. However, children do always lie on the age question to be on the site. It isn't something that the FCC can resolve, but the parents.
@m4nderz I agree with this view. If regulations are set on the internet, there is no doubt that these regulations limit how one can freely express themselves. It limits one's freedom of expression and people would have to think if what they are saying goes against the guidelines.
2)The internet also provides a diverse array of content and viewpoints, when compared to network television. If regulations are introduced, they can infringe upon freedom of expression by imposing limitations on online content and preventing people from expressing their thoughts.

I don't believe that the FCC should regulate the Internet the way it regulates network television.
1)The internet has become a platform for innovation and creativity due to its open nature. With the FCC regulating it, it sets a barrier that limits creativity.
