On Saturday 18 January 2026, at about 0900 hrs, the NAIMOS Task force stormed a notorious galamsey site at *Nyafoman* in the *Birim North Municipality*. The illegal miners absconded.

Seven suspected illegal miners, including two minors, were arrested. Nine water pumping machines, mining equipment, charms, and mobile phones were retrieved. Makeshift structures at the site were dismantled to prevent a return to galamsey activities.
