@KingJames A minority of the protesters have been rioting and destroying businesses that had voiced support for the police. Freedom of speech has to go both ways. The peaceful protesters tried to wrap the movement as completely peaceful. have to respect others who don't protest.
@Simon23105395@GordonGChang So the Manchus weren't from Manchuria? They were a foreign ethnicity who conquered China and then assimilated into Chinese society.
@GordonGChang@batchelorshow@ThadMcCotter Almost all the food and water comes from Mainland China. There are economic actions that can hurt the protesters or their employers.
@joshuawongcf one peaceful protest after shutting down the airport. How many Molotov cocktails the rioters threw into homes of police officers? Kill the police's families as revenge. Arson is peaceful?
@GordonGChang Beijing will create shortage of resources for Hong Kong and pressure businesses to move to Shenzhen. As long the banks are running, Beijing is not likely to intervene. Beijing is pushing Shenzhen as Hong Kong's replacement for finance.
@joshuawongcf doesn't sound like a peaceful protest to me. Revenge, and Revolution are always associated with violence. Do you want more youngsters committing sabotage and riots?
@MariaBartiromo@GordonGChang@FoxNews@SundayFutures@cvpayne Huawei can survive even if there is no outside supplier. It will be subsidized by PRC because it is the industry leader (China's national pride). It is too big to fail. Apple will be the casualty most likely because China's market will be all Huawei. Trump realized that.
@tork_clark @GordonGChang remember the Telecom operators track traffic. any anomalies would be detected. All telecom equipment will have bugs. Network Security ultimately relies on the operators.
@Jkylebass@onlyyoontv@Huawei@CommerceGov I doubt it. Most of the patents are really methods of doing things. they are selected due to their performance. You can have other methods but they won't be accepted into the standards because they are inferior and because Huawei owns the 5G standards board.
@marcorubio It's tough to convince the world that letting Huawei have gmail, youtube or android installed on their phones constitute a national security hazard!
@marcorubio@POTUS 70 percent of the hardware comes from USA and Japan and Korea. 100 percent of the OS and apps come from USA. The ban doesn't stop Huawei from developing their own systems for China, EU, Russia and SouthEast Asia.
@GordonGChang The entity list never really works. There are ways to circumvent it like manufacturing the stuff outside the U.S. through foreign subsidiaries. U.S. companies will find ways to trade with Huawei.
