One track mind. The long road home. All good things must come to an end. Insert suitable motivational quote here. #Monorail#train ride seen from #cockpit at #MIA - #Miami International #Airport, South #Florida, in early December 2024. Beautiful clear skies to bid us #farewell...
Y'all know #gators. Y'all know #albinos. Down here in greater #Orlando, #Florida, at #Gatorland, them folks got not just one, but several #albino#alligators. Those have a spectacular sheen to them, and now you know. Also, twenty dollars more would have bought us an annual pass.
What's in a name? The #railroad town of #Texarkana sits right on the #border between two #Southern#States & has not one but two town halls to match. This #signpost in front of the old #US Post Office & Federal Courthouse on aptly named #StateLine Avenue probably sums it up best.
4 hours at the #Oklahoma#History Center & #Heritage#Museum apparently weren't quite enough to take in all exhibition galleries spread out over two floors on Friday, so we're gonna have to come back for more in the future. An #OklahomaCity must see, #Tulsa man, the #oil man.
9:01 to 9:03 AM. The moment the clocks froze at Alfred P. Murrah #FederalBuilding in downtown #OklahomaCity on April 19, 1995. Today, an austere & somber #memorial framed by #reflectingpond & #sunset over the plains, as dignified as the final destination on the trail of tears.
Depending on the position of the sun & nearby buildings & trees, it's frequently difficult to shoot clean & esthetically pleasing frames of #US#StateCapitols. In #LittleRock, #Arkansas, today, I spent close to 3 hours circling the #rotunda & chasing shadows, ending up with this.
Last not least, the third full day in #Memphis saw a triumphant (?) return to #SunStudios#recordstore, #museum & café. Or at least a pleasant hour and a half spent on the bench by the entrance taking portraits with the Little Missie and lots of vinyl & enamel in the background.
