I am not sure who was making the marketing decisions at Nocona boots in the late 1970s but whoever decided to engage Science Fiction/Fantasy artist Alex Ebel deserves a beer. Check out this great advertising poster. The boots were still made in Nocona, Tx. at that time.

Sarah Cockrell led a great Texas life. She married Alexander Cockrell in 1847 and, after he was killed in 1858, took over his businesses. When she died in Dallas in 1892, Sarah was worth hundreds of millions of dollars in today's money. Much of Dallas is built on her land.
