So, without any discretion, we’ve just casually rigged the League Cup draw & taken away FA Cup replays. The English Football pyramid is well & truly dead. As long as it pleases fans who have never stepped foot in our stadiums though.
There hasn't been a winner of the Carabao Cup outside the traditional big 6 in over a decade, so it seems like a great idea to allow the European clubs to avoid drawing each other in the third round.... 😐
@The92Bible Absolutely laughable, Skubala in 16th! Clough taking upwards of 4 years to get Mansfield up on a big budget - some magician him. 🪄 Plenty of other terrible shouts in there.
@BBCSport Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday. Wow, what a demanding schedule, with your billion pound, 30 man squad. Truro, with part time players, who have actual jobs, have played 13 games in 28 days. This includes a period where they played Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday.
The argument some are making about removing FA Cup replays to reduce PL players’ games doesn’t wash.
For example: Liverpool have played 53 games across all competitions so far, Klopp is always vocal about excessive games and fair enough, his players barely get rest periods between fixtures.
It’s not just PL players though.
Peterborough United have played 58 games so far, and they might have to play in the play-offs yet.
Harrison Burrows has played 54 of those, and Ronnie Edwards has played 51 alongside five games for England U20s. No complaints, no calling for changes to domestic competitions, just getting on with it 🤷♂️
EFL players are under the exact same strain as PL players, and some even more. If football authorities want to decrease the number of games, you don’t scrap the FA Cup replays that are so important for EFL clubs.
I see Goldbridge has come out defending the FA Cup decision. Of course he has, hawking the alternative view for nothing more than engagement. He can't go to any games because he'd get filled in. He's a parasite, the absolute image of everything wrong with the modern supporter.
@markgoldbridge What a moronic, selfish take. There's so much more to English football than the premier league. It isn't surprising you also mention the 3pm blackout given you're an armchair fan, and haven't been to a game in your life. Terrible take. Wanker.
What a day….@TrentBridge thank you for doing what you did, thank you to everyone who turned out,you got us going…….. Test Cricket is MIIIIIIIIIIINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
