The usual difference between men and women in athletic events from sprints to ultra-distance races is usually 10-12%. Today's performance of @gerdarun is 9.1% slower than that of George Kusche, who himself ran the best Comrades-up run of all time.
So Gerda's performance is one of the great running performances of all time at any running distance.
South Africans 🇿🇦 love @gerdarun but perhaps don't appreciate that her performances need to be considered in a more global running context, not just in terms of her performance as an ultramarathon runner.

It is a great day for me, today! I am ecstatic because I was finally called in for an interview with the #MadlangaCommission investigators and lawyers. I felt like I was as reliving those difficult moments at the NPA, Hawks and SAPS. I had a lump in my throat throughout the gruelling interview but I did not cry! It will be for the Commission to decide whether or not I am called for oral evidence - I am elated that I finally put my story on record.
