Tidal tails? How can it be a tail if it goes in front of *and* behind a cluster?
A very important question answered on today's arXiv.

It's *still* possible to find new clusters in Gaia data, and there are 749 in the catalogue. My absolute favourite cluster of all time is HSC 2384 - it has been hidden behind one of the most famous open clusters (IC 2602, the "Southern Pleiades") for centuries!
It's far from the galactic disk and has a great, clean isochrone. It's a little smol compared to most clusters but hey, we're just 2 m tall but open clusters are on average 6x10^17 m wide, so can we even talk?
🚨 Danger! 🚨
Is your child (star cluster ✨) texting about TIDAL TAILS?!
TIDAL TAILS are a gateway to Stellar Streams, Moving Groups and TOTAL DISSOLUTION back into the field!!!
hmm also, why does scipy.optimize.minimize keep saying "ERROR: Failed to converge within max_iterations."
That means it worked, right? My isochrone has been fit?! 🤩
