Ima say the quiet part out loud.
A lot of men are not desirable. Some lack the emotional intelligence (among other things) to have a HEALTHY relationship dynamic. This is one (of the many reasons) why they cling to patriarchy. Because patriarchy puts people in a position to NEED men regardless of if you want them or not.
You didn’t have to WANT a man but if you wanted a house you NEEDED a man. You didn’t have to WANT a man but if you wanted stable income in a home you NEEDED a man (this did not apply to BW bc they’ve always had to work, however the gender wage gap does apply to them so my sentiment still remains) you also NEEDED men if you wanted a bank account.
My point is men don’t have work on us as a collective if patriarchy keeps us in a space in which we are NEEDED. This is why you see grown ass men on the verge of tears when women say they don’t NEED a man. This is why we’re watching “the protectors of the community” use this woman’s situation as leverage to point out why you NEED men (completely ignoring a man was not only the victimizer but also a myriad of men stood motionless & offered no aid)
Men want power and to be needed and Patriarchy provides them with both.
@LaurieOsborn14@dillerdime39@kdnerak33@NoLieWithBTC@CBS8 Why is being left always associated with "tolerance"? I am actually quite intolerant of transphobic, homophobic, racist, christo-fascist Republicans. The idea of such things is anathema to my sensibilities. Republicans would be more tolerable if they tried being accepting.
Except why would anyone pick a side in the first place. It's a legal case, not a tv-show. Both can be shitty and be held accountable for both of their shitty actions
@shutupqls It baffles me that people are supporting amber when there’s tons of proof She was abusing depp. I’m not on anybodys side cause I don’t care but after all the proof that came out against her and y’all wanna be on her side? It amazes me how people blindly support other people.
I’m glad that Lizzo apologized with full accountability, and better yet releasing the song w/o the slur. With that said, I hope the same people who had a lot of anti-black things to say under the guise of accountability about Lizzo have the same energy for their yt faves.
