@joopiuscollect@signalspikedev@Thollenshead It may be true, but Grok is not proof. It frequently gets things wrong, because it, like every other LLM, scrapes the internet and uses rando social media posts from Redditards and such in its replies. Like Wikipedia, primary sources must be followed for more rigor.
@Thollenshead Is this the same Romero that abandoned Empire of Sin without fulfilling the expansions and bug fixes, so that the work had to be outsourced by Paradox to a third party so that Empire wouldn't be in breach of contract with customers that pre-purchased the promised content?
@The_Reliant@Zepp1978 It's not perfect but it's far better under Musk than it was under the censorship machine prior. It is also the most balanced social media platform poltically thanksnto changes he made.
I would like to share some thoughts on the Samuel Sey situation that have been bothering me.
I debated whether to share this at all, but with every development on Sey's case, it seems this becomes more and more relevant...
As you all know, in September of 2024, I was part of a highly politicized investigation by the Biden DOJ. They essentially alleged that the content my company, TENET, put out was Russian propaganda.
Now, despite the fact that every creator we worked with clarified that they always had complete editorial freedom, despite the fact that what Merrick Garland called "divisive" were just mainstream conservative opinions, despite no one being able to point to any actual evidence of "propaganda" that we put out, and that I was never even arrested, detained, charged, much less convicted of anything, I was still disavowed if not personally attacked by many mainstream rightwing publications and commentators. I was also fired from The Blaze, a company I had worked with for years, mere hours after Merrick Garland launched his unproven and unsupported allegations against us.
Furthermore, even now that that entire investigation is closed and we are more than two years past that episode, I am still blacklisted by almost all establishment conservative organizations. The DOJ still has yet to return my family's savings which were seized, and were not even earned from TENET.
All this because of lies from the Biden administration which were amplified by the leftist media.
Now let us contrast Samuel Sey's situation with my own.
Sey is currently being detained by ICE as part of a crackdown on illegal immigrants. A crackdown that Republicans and conservatives largely all support. His family insists that this is all due to some misunderstanding or clerical error, but the DHS has released a statement saying that Sey has been illegally present in the US for 4 years.
As someone who believes borders are important, but who has also had my fair share of hurdles with the immigration process and is skeptical of bureaucracy, I'm actually inclined to give Samuel and his family the benefit of the doubt here. I hope the situation is resolved quickly for the family, especially for the sake of the children.
This post isn't meant to attach Samuel at all, but rather, to point out the glaring difference in grace and support that Samuel and myself have been afforded.
Throughout this whole ordeal, many huge conservative names have not only offered moral support for Samuel, they've even gone so far as to share his fundraiser for legal fees. Additionally, as far as I know, none of Samuel's professional ties have been severed as a result of his detainment.
To be clear, I don't even have a problem with this. I want Samuel to be treated fairly. I believe in the prosumption of innocence.
It's just watching this all unfold, I can't help but notice how differently many leaders in the conservative movement have reacted to this specific example of legal troubles with a pundit, and I would be lying if I said my feelings weren't somewhat hurt by it.
In any case, thank you for everyone who has been supportive of me as I continue to navigate the fallout from Biden's team. It really has meant the world. And we should all be praying for Samuel and his family.
@J0hnADouglas@ChampionsOTIce2 Much like the Prequels, The Crystal Star is retroactively elevated with each new thing Disney releases. Still flawed, but no longer the floor.
There was once a shepherd who found a wolf caught in a snare at the edge of his pasture.
The wolf begged to be freed.
“I was hungry,” it said. “That is all. Spare me, and I will remember your mercy!”
The shepherd cut the rope.
The next night, three lambs were gone.
Again the shepherd found the wolf. Again it pleaded. Again the shepherd convinced himself that mercy was proof of his goodness.
By winter, half the flock was dead.
An old farmer finally asked him, “Why do you keep freeing it?”
The shepherd answered, “Because I refuse to become cruel.”
The farmer looked at the empty field and said, “Then understand what you have done. You were not merciful to the wolf. You were cruel to everything that trusted you to keep them safe.”
That’s the lesson.
Mercy without judgment isn’t virtue. When someone openly intends to destroy what has been entrusted to you, endless forgiveness doesn’t make you righteous. It makes everyone behind you pay for your vanity.
An observation: "People are allowed to enjoy things" is a two bit slogan that only NPCs utter, especially when it doesn't make sense in context.
Mike isn't chasing down comments of people who like things he doesn’t to rain on their parade, so your regurgitated admonishment doesn't apply in either the spirit or letter of its meaning.
You, on the other hand, made a choice to do the very thing you claim to be against. After all, fans of a material will have opinions on how that material is adapted and aren't required to partake in your perfomative toxic positivity.
I know it's too much to ask you to have an original thought, so reflect on this and then shut up.
I certainly empathize with him and his family being separated for a time, but overstaying a visiting visa for four years and not submitting applications for residence... should that not be enforced? If I 'forget' to renew my driver's license and keep driving for four years, if I get stopped am I not subject to legal consequences for driving unlicensed? Also, you can't lie about his legal status in your post and then decry "muh Nazis" and expect not to get dragged for your un-Christian actions.
@Overly_Bored@DiggingInTheDi1 Obviously, but it's a false premise that we have to throw our hat in for one or the other. Choose neither Israel nor Iran.
