sometimes i open myself up in front of the window to dream of a world where the stargazers look to me.

but when hits, it’s a masterpiece. seven seconds of toxins in my lungs. i tried to avoid thinking about it like poison, but i couldn’t.

some days i want to scream, but there is no place on earth private enough.

I feel this little ache in my brain before I start crying. It’s like a check engine light, a natural warning that something is about to begin.

the city puts me under her spell. one way or another, they all know i’m unwell.

I’ve pleaded and screamed and cried at the dinner table until my throat was raw.

you will consume me and feel raw inside until you spend days brushing your tongue until you can’t taste me anymore.

you would sleep in my bed when i wasn’t home. quickly, you became the monster beneath it.

stoned at the lake: i swam through clouds and sea of algae, so high i was floating.

i am at the cusp of youth, thrown into adulthood, pretty, pretentious, &. paranoid.
