@SusanWD4 @sciencegirl Further, the principles of allowing plants to naturally cool the environment are lost when plants are replaced with rocks. Then the homes in these communities end up using more electricity to try and keep cool.

@SusanWD4 @sciencegirl The areas where most people live are coastal hills plains and valleys that would naturally be covered in grasses, scrub brush and oaks... Not rock gardens and cactus. They are encouraging dessert landscaping where it would not have occurred in nature.
