Sharing this a bit late, but please do read this brilliant piece by Ruskin Bond, whom I had the honour to meet and photograph last week.
He is as beautiful a person as his writing. :')

When Parineeti Chopra married him, I wondered why she chose someone who isn't event half as awesome as she is!
Well, the person she married is not just average, he's also a hypocrite and opportunist.
Good luck to her!
#EditorsPeek: As one of the poster boys of AAP joins the BJP, @AgarwalVedanta explains how Raghav Chadha was never the ‘Zohran Mamdani’ that India’s Gen-Z expected him to be.
Chadha’s Instagram following also dropped by nearly 4 lakh to 14 million after his announcement.
At some point I am going to write a paper on how words have lost their meaning. How politicians have butchered Language. How their dishonesty has robbed communication of all truth. Today as Raghav Chaddha joins the BJP, a party he once called "gundo ki party", he has not only lost any credibility he ever had, but also any goodwill any of us felt towards him. What a waste of an education, a confident voice that could have done so much for the nation, a young politician who has time to change things. What a waste.
In the wake of the Trans Act 2026, we recognise how difficult this time is for our trans and queer community. While the fight continues, we are holding a voluntary space for us to gather, rest, and simply breathe.

A Hindutva-oriented transwoman from Rajasthan has recently claimed that her letters to PM Modi led to the passage of the atrocious Transgender Amendment Act.
Another Hindutva-oriented transwoman from Delhi has filed a poorly-drafted petition in the Supreme Court against the Act, which will jeopardize collective community efforts to fight it via the judiciary.
Both transwomen supposedly belong to the same organization. Why are they then speaking in different tongues?
Our LGBTQIA+ community needs to realize that we cannot have any truck with Hindutva! This vicious ideology will lead to our collective ruin.
In the recent meeting of the transgender delegation with the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, @RahulGandhi, I pointed out that the new amendments relied on an RSS mindset, that wanted to box Indians into the identities we were born with. They are against our aspirations. They are averse to the India we dream of — one that is diverse and plural, and where the marginalized are protected.
When we raise our voices against the Transgender Amendment Act, let's never forget which doctrine got us here in the first place!
On March 31, which is celebrated globally as the International Transgender Day of Visibility, the queer-trans community of Dehradun held a protest march against the draconian Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Act 2026.

The trans act has already started impacting our lives
My clinic has paused prescriptions, even for people who were already on HRT, for fear of inviting legal action. Despite clarifications and caveats, the reality on the ground is very different
@meethebuns So sorry that you're going through this...
I'm planning to do a story on the implications of the Trans Act. Would like to interview you for this. Please let me know if you'd want to do this. I can be reached at [email protected] or via DM.
Thanks
Folks in Dehradun, it's time to rise and show our support for trans* rights. Please join us at Gandhi Park tomorrow to protest against the draconian Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill 2026.

“I challenge you, not even 5 MPs here would be able to explain what LGBTQIA+ means. Why should people without this knowledge be allowed to make this Bill? This Bill must be sent to a select committee.” - Rajya Sabha MP from INC Telangana @RenukaCCongress
We are united in our opposition to this draconian anti-trans bill.
It's ironic that the State is calling it the 'Protection of Rights' Amendment Bill. Forget protection, this bill facilitates the harrasment of the trans community.

Dehradun's queer-trans community and allies strongly oppose the Trans Bill 2026.
Through the bill, the State isn't safeguarding trans rights -- it's violating them.
If this bill becomes a law, it would set back the progress of queer rights in India.
#RejectTransBill2026
This bill is unconstitutional and goes against the fabric of democracy. We stand together with our trans brethren. The amount of panic and anxiety that this bill has generated is concerning.
Please join our efforts to #RejectTransBill2026#TransRightsAreHumanRights#NoGoingBack
The government needs to consult trans voices before making any amendments to the law concerning them. It's shocking that they rolled out this bill without consulting the trans community.

Forcing someone to undergo a medical procedure before the state recognises their identity isn't administration.
It's coercion dressed in bureaucratic language.
This bill is a human rights violation. Call it what it is.
#RejectTransBill2026#NoGoingBack
It's called the "Protection of Rights" Bill. It removes trans men from the definition entirely. It erases non-binary people completely. It hands your identity to a medical board.
Who exactly is being protected here?
@Drvirendrakum13#WithdrawTransBill2026#RejectTransBill2026
The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill 2026 doesn't protect anyone. It erases them. Self-identification — upheld by the Supreme Court in NALSA 2014 — is now conditional on medical boards and district magistrates.

#WATCH | Rajasthan: Members of the Hindu community, under the aegis of Hindu-Muslim Ekta Samiti, shower flower petals on members of the Muslim community who offered namaz at Eidgah in Jaipur, on Eid ul-Fitr.
I stand in solidarity with the transgender community and will strongly raise these serious concerns in Parliament.
Met a delegation of transgender community members and civil society representatives regarding the Transgender Amendment Bill, 2026; a deeply regressive and problematic legislation.
Key concerns:
• Removes the right to self-identification, replacing it with medical boards and bureaucratic approval
• Violates privacy and bodily autonomy through mandatory medical scrutiny
• Narrows the definition of “transgender”, excluding transmen, non-binary and gender-diverse persons
• Risks de-recognition of those already holding legal identity documents
• Institutionalises state surveillance and intrusive oversight of identity
• Revives stigmatizing, outdated frameworks instead of protecting dignity
• Undermines institutional mechanisms like the National Council for Transgender Persons
• Introduced without meaningful consultation, weakening democratic process
• Attempts to bypass ongoing judicial scrutiny
This Bill represents a clear rollback of constitutional rights affirmed by the Supreme Court.
