We’ve had a conservative MP here in #vernonbc for 32 years.
Is this the year we change our representation in Ottawa?
Anna Warwick Sears is running for the @liberal_party in Vernon-Lake Country-Monashee and would be an incredible representative for us in Ottawa!
#cdnpoli
@pianomanjeremy@liberal_party@SearsWarwick@MarkJCarney My view of Mark Carney is different than yours!
But also: at the end of the day, Canadians really have a choice between two Albertans for PM: Pierre or Mark.
I see Pierre as the inferior choice.
My vote is with Mark Carney.
@pianomanjeremy@liberal_party@SearsWarwick@MarkJCarney Mark Carney wasn't the leader (or in parliament) when "all this happened."
The reason he's leading all of the polls is because Canadians (like me) see him as a marked departure from both Trudeau and Pollievre's politics.
He is the fresh start. The "liberal" label is secondary.
If progressive voters in #vernonbc are serious about defeating the Conservatives in 2025, the party with the most momentum is @MarkJCarney and the @liberal_party.
Anna Warwick Sears is our local candidate!
@MadAboutPaper You're misinterpreting this report.
The green areas on the map show regions where more CO2 was removed than emitted by natural processes (forests, etc.), but this is only one part of the carbon budget. It doesn't include fossil fuel emissions.

We're having Geek Beers this Thursday (Oct 24) from 5 pm to 8pm in #vernonbc at Silverstar Brewing.
(A week earlier than normal because of Halloween)

For context:
All the former "BC Liberals" in Vernon are federal Conservatives. To this riding, the BC Conservatives had been a fringe party for decades with a strong PPC association.
The BC Conservatives couldn't find a candidate in the riding. They had been looking since February 2024.
When BC United withdrew all their candidate endorsements at the end of August, the local BC United candidate offered to run under the Conservative label. He had already been campaigning in the riding for nearly a year, getting his name out. Numerous local voters sent emails to the BC Conservatives requesting that he be the candidate.
BC Conservative brass ignored those requests and punted in a parachute candidate from Kamloops, who had lost 3 previous elections, had no name recognition or connections to the riding.
4000+ usually Conservative voters voted for who they thought was the better candidate.
If they had gone with him instead, it would have been a strong Conservative win here.
@vancolour: “Just to clarify: is there a formal association between the BC Conservatives and the Conservative Party of Canada?”
John Rustad: “The Conservative Party of British Columbia has no alignment with any of the federal parties”
🤷♂️ I wish BC voters understood this #bcpoli

@sgeve @HSandhu_Vernon @bcndp When Harwinder won last election it was the first time the NDP had won the Vernon riding since the 1980s.
This has traditionally been a conservative riding, so it is surprising!
(Without Acton splitting the vote, it would have gone Conservative)
