REMARKS OF H.E., THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF OSUN STATE, SENATOR ADEMOLA ADELEKE AT IWO DAY CELEBRATION TODAY DECEMBER 20TH, 2025

PROTOCOLS

Our royal majesty, sons and daughters of Iwoland, I am here today to show deep appreciation for your support and prayers for me and our administration. In the last three years, Iwo has been a strong pillar of support in our drive to develop Osun state.

In specific terms, I thank the Isokan Musulumi of Iwoland under our respected Sheikh Mogaji for their courtesy visit to my office at Abere. The Isokan delegation included the Chief Imam of Iwoland, the Wazirin Musulumi of Yorubaland, the TAWUNU group and other top leading clerics. We had fruitful discussions on the development of Iwoland.

Permit me to also express my gratitude to the Christian Association of Nigeria and their various chapters for their prayers and constant support. I have interacted with Christian clerics directly and indirectly through my top aides within and outside Iwoland. CAN is also a strong advocate for the development of Iwoland.

I extend similar appreciation to traditional worshippers for their faith in our capacity to deliver good governance. Our government and leadership enjoy solid interfaith backing from all faiths and interest groups. We deeply appreciate it.

My special thanks goes to the Iwo Board of Trustees under Professor Lai Olurode. The board interfaced with my office on several issues and I am happy to report that we have made huge progress in the development of Iwoland. The Iwo Action Council has also frequently called our attention to areas of need for Iwo people. Our administration has always responded positively.

To the Iwo royal family, I convey my special thanks to the kabiyesi for his counselling and open support for our Administration. We are a strong partner with Kabiyesi in the urgent need to make Iwo a top city. Our government pledges continued commitment to the integrity and unity of the Iwo traditional council.

Great sons and daughters of Iwoland, my development agenda for this ancient town focuses on total transformation never witnessed in the past. Iwo needs a sudden jump to an ultra modern city and our government is delivering that new reality. Iwo had witnessed several false and fake promises in the past. Many politicians had sweet talked Iwo people without any result. My goal is to rewrite the story of Iwoland for good.

The outcome of our efforts is manifesting even to the blind. Iwo is jumping into modernity. Under three years in office, we have constructed close to 20 kilometers of roads within Iwoland. We are rehabilitating Iwo Waterworks. The goal is to relay the water pipes across the town. I have given approval for the upgrading and rehabilitation of the Iwo General Hospital. Our administration has sunk over 30 boreholes across Iwoland. The collapsed Adeeke Bridge was rebuilt by our government.
