The GCJ team enjoyed meeting w/ students from @SyracuseU’s #AtrocityStudies program on issues related to war crimes & genocide, and sharing how the U.S. formulates policy on prevention of, responses to, and accountability for mass atrocities.

The Office of Global Criminal Justice’s Deputy was also honored to meet with members of Syrian civil society to discuss the urgent need for accountability and justice to rectify past crimes and curtail future violence in Syria, esp. given recent events.
This week Deputy Assistant Secretary Jacobsen was honored to meet with members of Syrian civil society. Their courageous advocacy for human rights promotes peace, stability, and security in Syria--and U.S. interests within the wider region.
