I've always wondered: If I had gotten married earlier, would I be richer?
The money gap between young married couples and singles has widened, thanks to inflation and rising home prices reports @juliaccarpenter

I’m in a women’s personal finance group on fb and fam, the amount of women who post in this group about being SAHM suddenly absolutely screwed and destitute due to a separation or divorce is enough for me to tell anyone and everyone to not be. SAHM. HAVE YOUR OWN MONEY ALWAYS.
It’s staggering how much our economy depends on women’s free labour. It’s undervalued, overlooked, and unjust. It’s their unpaid care work that’s the backbone of our economy, not billionaires.
What good is a social safety net if the people who need help most can't access it? Some $65 billion a year in benefits goes unused due to access issues—a pre-pandemic estimate that's surely higher now. By @emmalincolnblog & @stefanieoconnel for @Newsweek https://t.co/JibLIGu007
Whether or not you are successful depends on how YOU define success.
The reason why hitting your milestones or accomplishing a small goal doesn’t feel as good to you is because you measure your success in comparison to someone else's success.
If you can fill an agenda with women speakers for your women-focused conference, but “can’t find any” to put on stage for your general conference, you don’t have a pipeline problem- you have a perspective problem.
Guy on conference call asked multiple women on the call to set up meetings, follow up, send emails. Not their roles. He is not above them hierarchy-wise & he is newer.
I message him mentioning it & say that it’s not cool.
On the call he then starts assigning ME these tasks,

It's not a pipeline problem.
Women of color enter asset management at approx 23% of the workforce, slightly higher than the percentage of WOC in the US population.
WOC in the C-Suite though? 1%.
Stats from here: https://t.co/wyPZirlZAu
"Black & Latinx households account for 32% of the population in this country, yet they represent...64% of the unbanked population in the United States."
@MiaTaylorWriter worked on this reporting for @RealSimple for literally months & it's SO important: https://t.co/B1ozQJ7zRI
fun-fact: the inspiration for this episode came from attending @statement_event. There, @CapitalGroup shared some research 🤓 they had published earlier this year about how women's financial philosophies were changing due to the pandemic.

Lately, every conversation I have boils down to:
A. climate change
B. division of household labor
My thesis: the world is burning, and men don't do enough.
The ambition penalty is something many women have experienced first-hand.
Take the example of one 26-year-old woman who had a job offer rescinded after following advice to “always negotiate,” for instance https://t.co/qQorNi7b1B
