What Is @MMTFinance (MMT)?

think back to when protocols like Compound kicked off liquidity mining and suddenly everything in DeFi started moving with purpose rather than randomness.

then Curve Wars happened, protocols fought to direct emissions, bribes appeared, and liquidity became something you could intentionally steer rather than just hope for.

Momentum (MMT) feels like a similar kind of coordination layer being built for the Sui ecosystem.

It started as MSafe, a multisig wallet project focused heavily on security. But after operating deep inside Sui, the team noticed a recurring issue: liquidity wasn’t being routed in a way that encouraged long-term commitment.

assets could be stored securely, yes, but they weren’t working together.

so they evolved into Momentum Finance (MMT), aiming to create an actual liquidity engine for the Move-based ecosystem.

the idea is simple: build a DEX that’s capital-efficient, add an incentives system that rewards real participation, and wrap it all in a token model where direction, influence, and fees flow back to those who commit to it.

that’s the purpose behind MMT: let liquidity be formed, concentrated, and governed in a way that aligns users, LPs, and protocols around ongoing participation, not one-time farming.

As Aerodrome is to Base, so is @MMTFinance is to Sui.

Sui has been buzzing across the DeFi space lately, and you’ve probably heard one project name repeatedly Momentum (MMT).

It’s arguably the most talked-about project in the Move ecosystem right now.

But what exactly is MMT?

Here’s a tldr:

Momentum (MMT) is a next-gen DeFi protocol on Sui, built to power liquidity, trading, and governance across the entire Move ecosystem.

- Backed by top-tier investors like OKX Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, and Circle
- Founded by @ChefMMT_X , a former Meta engineer
- Combines ve(3,3) tokenomics, a concentrated liquidity DEX, and a community-first model to align incentives between traders, LPs, and token holders (more on this soon)

- Momentum is also launching a $4.5M Community Offering on @buidlpad, giving users/creators early access to fully unlocked MMT tokens (no vesting).

- With over $22B+ in trading volume and $458M+ TVL, Momentum is positioning itself as the liquidity core of Sui, with plans for cross-chain expansion via @wormhole.

Momentum is gaining… well, momentum 🔥
