Botswana’s annual inflation rate was 4.2% March 2026, an increase of 0.2 of a percentage point from the 4.0% recorded in Feb 2026. The primary contributors to the annual inflation rate were the Transport group, which accounted for 1.7 percentage points.

Statistics Botswana is pleased to inform stakeholders that Dr. Khaufelo Raymond Lekobane is the new Statistician General, following his appointment by the Vice President and Honourable Minister of Finance, Mr Ndaba Gaolathe.
From 49,816 live births, Botswana recorded an MMR of 176.7 deaths per 100,000 live births.
